Estonia event screens Iran titles

The 22nd edition of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival in Estonia is screening Iranian movie lineup.

As one of the top fifteen world class festivals, the Tallinn Black Nights Filmfest is playing host to ‘Kejal’ by Nima Yar, 'Iro' by Seyed Hadi Mohaqeq, 'The Role' by Farnoush Samadi, 'Blister' by Morteza Shams and 'Birthday Night' by Omid Shams.

Notable among the screening items are 'Sheeple' by Houman Seyyedi and 'Everybody Knows' by Asghar Farhadi.

'Sheeple' participated at the 36th Fajr Film Festival in Iran and grabbed 4 awards for Best Film, Best Screenplay, Best Sound Mixing, and Audience Choice Award.   

The flick has been also ranked 1st among high-grossing films of Iran 2018 domestic box office.

Farhadi's Spanish-speaking film has been also the inaugurator of the 2018 edition of Cannes Film Festival.

"Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) has grown into one of the biggest film festivals in Northern Europe and busiest regional industry platforms, hosting more than 1000 guests and industry delegates and around 120 journalists," the official website of the event wrote.

The festival screens around 250 features and more than 300 shorts and animations and sees an attendance of 80 000 people annually.

The event has kicked off on November 16, 2018 and will end on December 2, 2018 in Estonia.
